Attn PDX Yarn Hearters: Fabric Depot (SE 122nd and Stark) has all its yarn, needles, and knitting/crochet accessories 30% off! Now before you say, "Ick, plastic Susan Bates needles and Red Heart acrylic!" and stop reading... well... keep reading. I was surprised by some gems they have. These include (admittedly amidst nasty plastic and metal cheapos) some good hardwood needles (rosewood, palm wood), lots of bamboo needles (straight, flexible, circ, dp), and those great really short bamboo DPs for sock toes and heels. Plus, they have plenty of good, basic wool and cotton yarn (again, admittedly amidst enough Red Heart acrylic to single handedly bring back the 70s) and some great specialty yarns like furs and other fun stuff. I'm not going to knit my Rogue out of it, but for an afghan or kids' stuff what a deal. Put the MLK weekend to good use and stock up! I may just have to go back myself and purge all the remaining metal needles from my arsenal...
