Slipper Socks by mi mama
Real quick - these are the first socks my mother made - she used a self-fair-isle-ing yarn, knitted them on size 1 dpns, and made them real nice and tall. They are a bit loose, so she got some slipper soles at the Woolery Mammoth, sewed them on the bottoms of her socks, and - guess what? They fit my dad perfectly!
