It might not look like it, but I am making progress with this sock. Kind of. I can do top down socks with any heel, not a problem. I can do toe up socks with a short row heel, not a problem. I can do toe up socks with a gusset/flap heel construction only if I'm following a pattern, and most often I will opt to change the pattern to a short row heel.
This sock is a challenge as I'm designing my own toe up sock with a gusset/flap heel. I want to understand the construction and to know exactly where on my foot to start the gusset increases (it isn't the same place I start a short row heel...don't ask how I know!). Once I get the first sock completed, I'm golden. End of joke, laugh here.
Guess what? It's AI season!! We are down to the top 24. Boys: David Archtuela is in all the way! I heart him. Danny Noriega...not so much. Girls are tonight, I'm working late...so no opinion until next week!

Wonderful design to pick up the light in those bright colors!
Shall I dredge up my toe-up sock with heel protruding from inner right ankle? Oh, how I hope that picture was destroyed!
Love that pattern!! Hope you figure out the heel so you can share with all of us :)
What about the cutie Australian? One of the rocker guys was pretty good too...I can't remember the names yet!
I was witness to L-B's toe-up sock with the heel sticking out of the side of the ankle.
Making fun of your friend's knitting? Priceless.
I was about to ask what the pattern is because I love it so much... and then I see you're designing it yourself! Will you be writing it up? Please say yes.
Also, I recently made a toe up sock way too long by starting the gusset/flap heel too late... but I got it right the next time. So I feel you.
Hope you're doing well!
I miss our AI chats every Thursday! Ha! I think there's some real cuties this year!
Love your sock G. LOVE it!
I missed the girls on AI last night too. I started a new Belly Dance class. I've been in a bit of a knitting slump as of late:(
Sock is gorgeous!
That orange is so warm! It brightens up the day. The pattern is really cool! What talent - sheesh!
