stochastic joy

Do you know what I love most about May?

I can walk around the garden every night, and every night there is something new to captivate my attention and inspire my awe.

The first rose bud of the summer.

Little frogs populating the newly blossomed peonies.

The surprise and wonderment of what is going to greet me upon my homecoming brings yet another kind of joy to my little world; a different joy from that of a good book or a date with Mr. NK.

A joy that just happens without predetermination. A joy that encourages one to be aware of the world around you, so that when a joy reveals itself you can capture it.

And you know what? I'm never disappointed. I don't know what I'll find or where I'll find it, or how long it will be present...but I always discover some small thing that brings joy and a wee smile to my knitterly sole soul when I walk the garden in May.

Wishing you all a wonderful Friday-eve!

You have such a way with words! You're right. If you love gardens or gardening, that's just it. Finding the little miracles that change from day to day.

My little joy was finding that the rudebekia that had been growing here for 80 years and we thought had gone forever - had somehow revived itself and is growing all over the place. I'm treating this one like a baby.
