I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.

Into white
Since Portlanders do heat as well as they do snow, I thought I'd revisit the snow days.
I thought it might cool me down.
Record breaking heat. Into the triple digits.
I long for our walk Christmas afternoon when I was triple layered! Sigh.
If you're in need of a break from the heat...I hope these few images cool you off, if even a little.
They do me.
The Snow that never drifts~
The transient, fragrant snow
That comes a single time a Year
Is softly driving now~
So thorough in the Tree
At night beneath the star
That it was February's Foot
Experience would swear~
Like Winter as a Face
We stern and former knew
Repaired of all but Loneliness
By Nature's Alibit~
Were every storm so spice
The Value could not be~
We buy with contrast~Pang is good
As near as memory

Temptations
I know SS09 is just around the corner, but I couldn't resist this skein of Ocean Fog.
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking over
harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

life is good
I have no complaints.
The sun is out, the days are warm, and the knitting is flying off my needles.
We're healthy, happy, and well fed!
I've been lucky enough to be able to spend time with some very special friends this past weekend, and I had dinner with another friend the other night who I haven't seen in an age even though she lives but a mile from us.
I don't know what will be on my plate as the day wears on, but I suspect that...
...I will have no complaints.
Be intent upon the perfection of the present day.

toward closure
Just the kitchener stitch and blocking await.
None of us will ever accomplish anything excellent or commanding except when he listens
to this whisper which is heard by him alone.
