heartfelt

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your wonderful and thoughtful wishes for a happy birthday!

Happy it was, indeedy!!

The scale is an objective measure of that!! :)

The day was filled with sweet treats of the edible kind and the people kind.

Perfect in every way!

Mr. NK was even able to give me a big surprise at dinner! More on that in another post!

Thank you, thank you!! All your warm and happy greetings made my day extra special!

Gratitude is the memory of the heart.

leaf light

The second Tottering Cables sock is in the home stretch. The Bugga yarn (20% cashmere...yum!) is perfect for these socks.

Talk about a match made in heaven!

We had torrential rain this morning. I'm a born and bred Oregonian, and it even dazzled me!

But, by lunch time....

the sun started to break through. Just for a moment.
It was enough.

No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.

leafprints

Someone has a serious case of cast-on-itis.

Seriously.

This is a Calvin and Ripple sock designed by Cristi, and is one of the patterns being knit in the STR KAL over on Ravelry.

And the yummy yarn? Gail's Autumn Joy!!

Happy Friday-eve!!

New X 2

Although I have quite a few skeins of this yarn, I've not knit with it before. My knitting goals for the year included exploring and using different yarns. I think I've done pretty well on that front.

This yarn is from Woolen Rabbit, in the color 'Beach Sand'.

And check out the new pattern from Anne! I can't wait for this beauty to be released to the public!!

I hope you all had a grand weekend! Autumn was in full force here between sun and rain, wind and calm.

scattered leaves

The winds will blow their own freshness into you,
and the storms their energy,
while cares will drop away from you
like the leaves of Autumn.

fog rolling in

The Ocean Fog shawl is finished.

I heart it.

The pattern is rhythmic and easily memorized.

The autumn rains have arrived.

This piece will be sure to keep me toasty warm against the blustery weather.

forest floor

Otherwise, you may step on a piece of the Forest that was left out by mistake.”

The first Papaver sok is finished!

Oh how I heart this HK yarn...this color, which I've dubbed PSL is gorgeous;

I love watching the bits of color pop out from the background of autumnal reds.

oh look! What else has popped onto the needles? More about that later!

We're off on a wee road trip this weekend...hopefully to capture some fall color and knit! I hope you all capture yourselves a wonderful weekend!
