revealed

We had a great weekend, how 'bout you?

We went to an encaustic art show that was part of the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts this past weekend. Our friend Karl had some wonderful pieces in it...and he won some fabulous awards in the juried portion of the show. This is big. We are so proud of him!! He's a rockstar!!

We left off last week with a glimpse of a new sock. I modified the original pattern by replacing the cuff with a picot cuff.

There are also some purl ridges in it...do you know what pattern it is yet?

I love the colors of this rare gem...the lavender just pops out!

One more clue. You know it now...right?

It's the Slip Jig sock designed by the wonderful Carrie...I knit it awhile back (although I still owe you an FO shoot!). It was the March RSC pattern...so not available for another year,

but, oh so worth the wait!!

I hope you're having a wonderful start to the week!

Did you notice all the sunlight in these images? Yep. Summer has arrived!! Happy dance!!

triple sweet FO

Look at that sun. Summer is here...

hopefully for longer than a single day.

The Keukenhof socks are finished...they've actually been finished for awhile,

but have been sitting and waiting patiently for their glamour shots while I cast on for yet another pair of socks...sigh.

Who's going to eat all these jelly beans and donuts?

I plead the fifth :)

I can't forget to acknowledge my little helper, Gigi! She visits from across the street just to help me with my photoshoots! Too sweet! :)

Happy Friday eve!

back to blue

I don't think anyone told the sun that the first day of summer was yesterday. It was a no show.

Oh well.

I finished the first sock in this yarn over the weekend, and immediately cast on for the second.

Speaking of the weekend...I had a great one! I hooked up with a lot of friends at the fiber festival and had an overall grand time. We had fun spending time with the family on Father's Day; my mom made two pies: strawberry and chocolate cream...OMG. Yum.

And you? What did you do for fun this weekend?

Back to the socks...I'm speeding along on the second sock of this pair and will hopefully be finished soon. I'm loving this pattern, and the yarn is wonderfully soft.

I hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday!!

Oh! Before I forget...a few of you were wondering about the yarn and pattern from Monday's post...the yarn is STR in a rare gem colorway, and the pattern...well...a girl has to keep something for another post! :)

helllooooo summer

What better way to start off summer than with a new pair of socks!

I'm futher along than shown here, but we have to start somewhere,

and a picot edge sounds like a great way to

ring in summer and start off the week!

Happy Summer everyone!! :)

friday's flowers: wild irises

Wild irises.

We found them along a rural road a few weeks ago.

These irises are so delicate.

It was quite a pleasant surprise to see so many patches of them!

I'm off to the Black Sheep Gathering this weekend! I'm looking forward to hooking up with some friends that I haven't seen in a long time!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!! xo

I think it pisses God off if you walk by the color purple in a field somewhere and don't notice it.

Junuary

And back to the pink socks...they're coming along...it doesn't seem like a lot of progress since last week, but...

I have two toes now...I actually have a full complement of 10 toes, but two sock toes.

The first sock seemed snug. I like negative ease...but my gut instinct told me that these socks would be too tight. I'd already frogged once, so I wound the second skein and started the second sock so I could test my guess hypothesis regarding the size.

So far so good...at least it fits in the tea cup..and better yet, it fits on my foot!! :)

Now, I can rip back the first sock confident that I have a successful plan for resizing. As always, I will keep my fingers crossed! :)

Why Junuary you ask? June is rapidly breaking records for cold and wet here in the Pacific NW...and has been dubbed Junuary by the radio host I listen to.

Thank goodness for glow in the dark pink socks to keep the days bright!
