Summer afternoon - summer afternoon;
to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language.
~Henry James
We're coming to the end of the first week of August and the first week of summer afternoons all at the same time. Imagine that!
Do you have any plans for the weekend? We're hanging out here at Chez NK getting caught up with some gardening, photography, and of course...knitting!
Wishing you a grand weekend! xo

After looking at your beautiful photos, I only want to knit socks this weekend!!! ;o) Seriously, tomorrow I get to spend the day gloriously BY MYSELF - the entire day!!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!
Incredible picture! Thanks.
Marcy
The quote and the photograph go so perfectly together!
I am doing "demonstration knitting" at the fair and hosting the cookie baking contest. I earned it with a day shift yesterday.
You always have such beautiful pics, but this one is amazing! I love the quote too. I just wish that our Central California afternoon were a little, tiny bit cooler, ha, ha.
It is so nice to see what you have been up to lately.
Gorgeous colors abound in all of the photographs. So inspiring.
I am working on koigu footies, myself. Bought some more yarn in Asheville, too.
I was able to go out for ice cream with a friend that I've had since childhood and had the chance to show her the socks that I am currently knitting. Thankfully, she gushed over them - she doesn't know it, yet, but she is the intended recipient. All-in-all, it was the perfect summer afternoon!
Hope your weekend was equally wonderful. :-)
You have more than outdone youself with this photo!!! Could you have your Canon call my Canon???!!!
I have flower photos to upload and can hardly wait to see how well my 'other eye' behaved. Were you in the flash mob at SS? Were you the videographer??
Your photo today is so spectacular that there may not be any brown words for sometime to come!!!
Thanks for the eye candy present!!
Your photography and quotes are always a treat. I would love to know more about the source for these quotes. Are you just incredibly well read or do you use some other resources? Jo
